2017 Guide to the Most Used Wellness Products

2017 Guide to the Most Used Wellness Products

With Cyber Monday coming up fast, it is the time of year to get outstanding deals on wellness products that I have recommended all year long. These products are what I use in my own kitchen, training routine, and health regime pretty frequently.

When using various wellness products, we always look at the multi-functional approach to how we can utilize the product. If it only serves one purpose, we tend to avoid that at all costs since to us it is wasted space. We have many resources on our site to use these products with, so if you purchase any of them, you have some ideas on how to fully use it to the best of its ability (for example, Instant Pot Recipes). We also believe in getting products for good deals, so if you find something isn't actually on sale for Cyber Monday, then don't get it! Almost all of these items will be on sale at some point in the near future.

We will break down these products into 3 different categories: Kitchen Supplies, Fitness Supplies, and Important Supplments

*As a note, some of these links are affiliate links, which means that if you purchase through them, I do get a little kickback from the company. This does not change the pricing for you in any way, it just helps me to keep this blog running. This also does not change the fact that we use most of these wellness products every single week.*

Kitchen Supplies

Instant Pot

The Instant Pot is a 7-in-1 pressure cooker than can be used to make a sh&t ton of dishes (no joke). It can be a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, yogurt maker, warmer, and saute-er, all in one. You can fully cook a spaghetti squash in 7 minutes, cook soups in 5-10 minutes, and even cook up a frozen ham under 45 minutes. We use this awesome device 3-4 times per week, if not more!

A good price for the 6qt 7-in-1 is under $90.

Food Processor

I love having a food processor. This Cuisinart Food Processor is one of the best ones you could find, but you don't have to start with the ultimate version. For a long time I used my Ninja Food Processor that came with the Ninja Kitchen System, and that worked just as well for me. If you got the kitchen system, you get the food processor, blender, and individual blender cups as well. I personally don't think the blender works that well (I do have an older version though), but the blender cups work extremely well.

I use the food processor to chop up veggies, to mix doughs for any of my desserts or paleo pancakes, and a lot more. This is a pretty versatile kitchen utensil that I use multiple times per week.

Immersion Blender

Adding an Immersion Blender to my arsenal has made a huge difference in my morning routine. I was pushed to get one from one of my clients, and it was a great investment (even though they are pretty cheap, this Bella Immersion Blender is under $17).

Some of my mornings start out very early, and I don't always have time to cook a meal before running out the door. So what I have been doing is prepping a few days worth of smoothie ingredients into mason jars, and leave it in the fridge. When morning comes around, I add the liquid, use the immersion blender, and walla- breakfast in seconds!

You can also use these to whip up foods like scrambled eggs or coconut whipped cream.

Fitness Supplies

Powerblock Dumbbells

These Powerblock Dumbbells are a very efficient way to have multiple sets of dumbbells contained into one unit. I use the 24lb sport blocks, which replaces 8 sets of dumbbells. All you do is slide the selector pin to adjust the weight.

These are really nice because they go up by 3lb increments, so you have a lot of opportunity for growth. If you outgrow the 24lbs, then they have other powerblocks that go all the way up to 175lbs! The handles are designed so that they weights don't feel extra large in the hands as well.

I think the TRX will always be one of my favorite tools to use, especially if you are working out at home instead of at a gym. The TRX is so versatile, and is great for anyone at any level of fitness. This is also a great product for those who are rehabbing from an injury as you can use the straps to take weight off of certain joints while going through motions.

There are a lot of TRX lookalikes out there, but I really haven't found any of them to be better than the TRX. Just stick to what we know works well. Plus this comes with a door anchor, which means you can do it anywhere in your house!

Yoga Mat

I think it is very important to balance any kind of strength training with mobility training, which is why I love yoga so much. Yoga isn't all about mobility though, there are a lot of components of strength and balance which makes it a very universal median for health.

Everyone has different needs when it comes to mats, so I will keep this pretty vague. I tend to use the lululemon mats because they are really sticky and I am a very sweaty person, so I can grip the mat better. Some people prefer a mat that isn't so grippy. Mats can range from $40-$150, so find one that suits your practice.

Supplemental Support

Collagen Peptides

I am a huge fan of using collagen peptides in my daily routine. It is one of the more pure sources of protein that you can purchase in a powder form. Collagen makes up every single tissue within the body, so it is very important to the human organism.

The powder can be added to smoothies, coffee, plain ol' water, or even added into your cooking. If you want a gelatin form, you can make your own gummies with it as well!

I have to admit, I am a little late to the game with MCT Oil. It first became a big deal when people started adding it into their morning coffees. Since I don't drink coffee, I omitted it from my supplemental repertoire.

I finally decided to see what the hype was all about, and I now understand why. MCT oil is a medium chain fat that goes directly to the liver to be broken down into a fuel source and boost metabolism. When I started adding it to my morning smoothie, holy smokes was there a big difference!

Hanah One

Hanah One

Hanah One has also been a game-changer for me. If you know me, then you know I love to use herbs as much as possible to help support the body. It is the way medicine has treated issues for thousands of years and has worked extremely well. The funny thing is, a lot of the “functional medicine” stuff is really taking us back to the roots of traditional herbal medicine.

This product is an herbal blend made specifically for stress and for improving focus. A lot of athletes are using it, and I even have teachers who use it to help reduce stress and to remain focused while in class. This is also part of my morning routines!

Are these really the only things I Use?

The quick answer is no. I use many other products, but I would say these are the most influential in my daily routines. All of these items I have shown you are very high quality, and will help you reach your wellness goals.

Like I said in the beginning, be on the lookout for deals on Cyber Monday. If something doesn't seem to be a good deal, then don't force the purchase! At some point, you will find these for good prices. Health doesn't need to be expensive, it should be affordable and be something you will use often.

    • Hi Betty,

Thanks for your question! I notice a nice increase in sustainable energy throughout the entire morning. I also check my blood glucose levels and have noticed a more steady blood sugar levels instead of them bouncing around like they used to do. Finally, I have struggled with digesting avocado in the past, so when I would put avocado in my smoothies, then I would get really nauseous because it was overwhelming to my liver. With the MCT oil, it allows the liver to break down the oil first, and allows the avocado more time in the digestive system to break down properly, especially since avocado typically is a tougher fat to break down anyways. So it has allowed me to utilize other fats more efficiently.
